vanished pedals n pedallers

Its time guys grab a piece of cloth dust your bikes, oil 'em, check air pressure n take them out for a spin. Well thats what i did few days ago after a long time(to b precise 6 years) and first thing i noticd was the dearth of cycle repair shops in the town. All those old kiosks where we used to go earlier as kids are nowhere to be seen, Not even those roadside repair shops were to b found anywhere. Well now should i be happy that india has prospired, is wealthier and now there's no need to buy bicycles , now we drive mercs and audies. BULL!! Then i started noticing the traffic on roads u can find all kind of cars suv's, Muv's, sedans, pickups and all kind of metal craps emitting gruelling sounds, coughing out smoke, sucking petrol from their tanks like leeches, and rightly so i can discover a mechanic shop after every 10 meter.
Then something struck a chord in my mind, i knew the cycle repair guy who used to sit near my school His name was Mustafa and i knew where he lived. I went to the place in radio colony where i thought he lived on the outskirts of a big hockey ground in small hole with tin roof. But he was not to be found there. I asked his neighbour about his whereabouts and the answer left me all bitter. He has left the town after working sometime under a mechanic and is working in a garage in Bhopal. What the heck? (yeah i know he moved to earn more, he went ahead with time, whatever..). Later tired i returned home switchd on the T.V only to see an advertisement from PCRA Mocking the dream of a kid who aftr watching all the elders around him burning petrol, decides to b a bicycle mechanic. Listening this the father comes back to his senses and turns off his engine on the red light. So what they wanted to show was that the kid's dream was so tiny that his father got ashamed and came back to his senses
Now the big question..what's wrong with the cycle industry in India. Bieng a bicycle mechnic can bring ultimate shame to ur parents???!! Anything that has to do something with bicycles is small...is it so then let me put forward some data for all those big hot shots. Can u afford the newly launched bicyle from ferrari CX70 Daytona costing 1.6 lakh or Audi cross pro RS costing 2.6 lakhs. Indian bicycle giants Atlas and hero are coming up with new sporty variants whose cost vary between 5k to 20k Well thats what bicycle industry can do for india only if we open our cramped up little minds towards these biofriendly high on adrenaline(u doubt that then wait fr more posts), perfect city commuters.
So please take out ur bikes back on roads and bring back all those Mustafa's back in business.
